WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS

We are proud to announce our commitment to Windows 98, Windows 2000 and WinXP.  Our drivers do not see a difference between Win98 and WinME, both systems work equally well with our adapters. If you are experiencing problems using our hardware products, try downloading the drivers from our driver download page. Win98 and WinME both have our drivers embedded on the Windows CD for all our currently shipping products except for the A100U2W. Please see the following information (paragraph below) on getting drivers for the A100U2W adapter for Win98, WinME, Win2000 and WinXP.

The Windows 2000 and WinXP drivers for Initio adapters are embedded on the Windows CD. Our hardware will be found during the installation of Windows and the correct drivers installed automatically. The only exceptions to this are for the INI-A100U2W (get the drivers here) and the discontinued products which do not have Windows 2000 or WinXP support. This includes the INI-6100/6102, INI-9100, and INI-9100W adapters.

LINUX OPERATING SYSTEMS

"Linux represents a best-of-breed UNIX, that is trusted in mission critical applications, and - due to it's open source code - has a long term credibility which exceeds many other competitive OS's."

Initio is proud to be a member of the Linux community. We recognize that much of the success of Linux has been the direct result of unprecedented cooperation between diverse people, organizations, and companies throughout the world. Initio continues to work directly and cooperatively with a myriad of individuals, companies, and groups around the globe to continue the development of Linux and related applications. The cooperative development model is essential to the future success of Linux, and our Linux drivers are one way Initio shows its support for the O/S.

Linux is a free Unix-type operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around the world. Linux is an independent POSIX implementation and includes true multitasking, virtual memory, shared libraries, demand loading, proper memory management, TCP/IP networking, and other features consistent with Unix-type systems. Developed under the GNU General Public License, the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone. Initio Corporation, experts in SCSI host adapters, I/O data transfers, and single-chip ASIC solutions, offers a wide variety of hardware peripherals that let users truly take advantage of new features in the Linux operating system.
